Krystal M. Vaughn, PhD, L.P.C., N.C.C. is a Licensed Professional Counselor working as a Clinical Instructor at Tulane University School of Medicine and the Tulane Institute of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse studies. Dr. Vaughn is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Presently, Dr. Vaughn is the Assistant Director for the Quality Start Mental Health Consultation program and assists in the program evaluation and research for Quality Start, a statewide initiative focused on improving the quality of child care centers. Dr. Vaughn has provided mental health consultation to childcare centers in the Shreveport area and currently supervises mental health consultants across the state. Additionally, Dr. Vaughn provides clinical supervision to counselor interns seeking licensure as professional counselors and she serves on the board for the Louisiana Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors. Dr. Vaughn received training in play therapy through the Louisiana State University Allied Health Play Therapy Clinic and graduated from the Association of Play Therapy Leadership Academy, where she served on the Key Award Committee for the association.
