Katie L. Maskowitz, L.C.S.W., a clinical social worker, is an Assistant Professor at the Tulane University School of Medicine. She is a clinician at the Tulane Infant Mental Health Services clinic, an early childhood intervention program.  She also provides parenting education and collaborates with the Department of Children and Family Services at the Tulane Parenting Education Program Family Resource Center.  Katie was a clinician at the Orleans and Terrebonne Parish Early Childhood Supports and Services (ECSS). Her clinical focus includes assessments and treatment for young children and families. She also consults regularly with various Louisiana agencies and childcare providers, and provides clinical case management services. Her clinical training was with the Tulane/JPHSA Infant Team, a multi-disciplinary team that provides treatment for maltreated children and their families, where she worked with young children, biological parents, and foster parents. Her various research interests and experiences include attachment disturbances, parent-child relationships, emotion recognition in young children, and preschool disruptive behavior.
